Surprise proposal at Montmorency Falls | Daniela and Erick's story

A unique moment

There are moments in life that remain etched in our memory forever, and I firmly believe that a marriage proposal is one of those instances that makes you shed tears of joy, jump with excitement, and deserves to be immortalized. I had the chance at the beginning of June to capture the surprise marriage proposal of Daniela and Erick during their stay in Quebec. Originally from Mexico, these two lovebirds were traveling to Quebec for the Montreal F1, and Erick decided to make this trip even more memorable by proposing to his sweetheart during their visit to Quebec City.

Why Quebec? A Misadventure Turned Beautiful

Erick and Daniela love Quebec, and they have visited often for the F1. That's why Erick decided to invest in a unique ring designed here in Quebec. After a long journey across America, the ring finally arrived at his doorstep in Mexico... damaged from the transport. His plans for an imminent marriage proposal fell apart, as the repairs would take several weeks. The idea then came to him to propose during their next trip to Quebec, and what a wonderful twist of fate it turned out to be!

Montmorency Falls : a natural and intimate proposal location

The choice of Montmorency Falls for the proposal was no coincidence. Erick wanted a natural, beautiful, and intimate setting for this unforgettable moment. Summer in Quebec means thunderstorms, humid days, and changing temperatures. On their lucky day, the weather was perfect for their proposal: a clear blue sky, pleasant warmth, and a golden light that made the landscape even more enchanting.

Exploring Old Quebec : a romantic adventure

After the grand proposal, we continued our photo session in Old Quebec. Located just 20 minutes from Montmorency Falls, this iconic neighborhood in Quebec City is a must-see for any tourist, and Erick wanted to have some urban shots to complete their memory gallery. The transition from the natural backdrop of the falls to the historic charm of Old Quebec was perfect.

We strolled through the cobblestone streets, exploring the picturesque corners of the city together. The quaint alleys, historic buildings, and the Château Frontenac provided stunning backdrops for our photos. Guiding Daniela and Erick through each pose, we ended the session with a treasure trove of equally beautiful photos.

Planning the proposal : a meticulous project

Before the big day, Erick and I met several times to plan all the details of his surprise proposal. From choosing the location to finding the best time of day and crafting the perfect scenario, I took the time to guide him through every important step of the planning process to make the moment flawless. It’s crucial to do thorough research to ensure the proposal meets the client's expectations. For instance, Erick had a strong preference for the vineyards of Île d'Orléans, but after thorough research, I recommended other natural locations. The reason? The vineyards aren’t lush at the beginning of June, and the landscape wouldn’t have been ideal.

A word from the newly engaged couple

I have to admit that my true reward is seeing your faces light up when I show you your precious moments in pictures. Your words touch me deeply, and Erick's were no exception.

Thank you very much, our experience was the best, thank you for the brilliant pictures, we are really amazed with the results of all the gallery, really lovable shots. You are the best, we enjoyed a lot our time in Quebec. The session time was so nice, you are a great guide and the best photographer. Hope to see you in the future too. You are very welcome to Mexico whenever you want. For sure we are returning to Quebec for winter season in the upcoming years.

So, when's the next magical proposal at Montmorency Falls ?
